Available in 3 and 4 string models, these new MGB Pitch Benders can add a new dimension to your CBGs. Includes all of the chrome finished components and hardware needed. Also includes a template to provide accurate location and sizing of hole for the bridge and locations for mounting screws. Critical steps for installation: Use the template (included) for accurate lay-out of holes. Make sure to line up the box center line and scale length line.  Secure anchor block (2 1/2 x 4  inches) to inside of lid. It should meet with edge of hole. The bridge screws will need to go through the lid and into the block. Do not over tighten screws that secure the bridge. The bridge must lay flat against the box, see pic. The bridge will need to pivot to shorten the strings and bend the pitch. Anchor the springs to provide tension, you can use the spring bracket or install screws in the anchor block. Our experience shows that stretching the strings about 1/2 inch from the normal state provides the right tension. This tension will will keep the bridge flat and allow tuning. Bending the bar will further stretch the springs and allow the bridge to pivot. The 3 string uses two springs and the 4 string uses three springs. The strings are bottom loading so access through the back of the box is needed.

Included is a preamp/equalizer, tuner and battery box. Works with all piezos that connect with a 2.5mm plug.  Included are template/trim rings for mounting the components. The battery box uses two 2032  round batteries (not included) which are installed positive side up. Wire management components are included. The RSG pickup is a complete system that includes a pickup, harness and cover ready to install. Uses an MGB 4.0 Mini Box Bucker pickup which is soldered to a 500K economy harness, or a 3.0 Micro Pup and 250K harness. The pickup is secured into a cover. This pickup can be mounted anywhere between the neck and the bridge to provide excellent sound. The cover is .3 inches thick so make sure there is a .3 difference between the top of the frets and the top of the box. Assembly is quick and easy, simply drill a one inch hole at the pickup location and feed the jack and pots through the hole, secure the pickup with the provided screws then mount the pots and the jack. The RSG pickups are available in four popular finishes including shiny aluminum, black, gold and antique brass. Each pickup is fully tested to insure optimum performance.

It's small in scale and works out perfect for a lot of cigar box guitars. This humbucker has split coil wiring and is a little bit different than some of the wirings you'll see on some of our other pickups. The Hot Tuna is a new pickup that we've designed and we are really proud of we've done, we hope you guys like it and help make The Hot Tunas a household name.

In some builds it is preferred to place the pickup under the lid of the box, this practice is often referred to as "ghosting". Many builders have had good success using the MGB Mini Box Buckers for these applications.  MGB is proud to introduce our new single coil Point Five O flat pup designed for ghosting. Make sure the magnets face the strings.  By adding more wire and strengthening the magnetic field we have a solid solution. These new pickups are a single coil version of the Lucky 13 pickup. They only have one coil and  measure 6.5 k ohms plus, thus the name Point Five O or .5. We have found in testing that the pickups work well when the distance from the pickup to the strings is .5".  Measuring 2.56" by 1.6" and .3" thick, these pickups can be used on 3,4 and 6 string builds. Chrome four string wrap around bridge suitable for cbg builds. Saddles are spaced .6 inches apart and string width at bridge is 1.8 inches. Requires a larger than standard neck, one that is close to 2 inches and the box end.  These bridges are taller than standard bridges requiring the the stagger between the box face and fret height to be near .5 inches. The mounting post allow for fine adjustment to get the action height correct. Template is included for laying out mounting hole locations. Simply line up the template on the centerline an scale length. Mark the holes and drill with a 12mm drill bit. You can use a smaller bit and file to size. Add backer to make sure top is close to .750 inches thick at the hole position.

Stainless Steel Highly Polished

This kit includes everything needed to build a Mandolin except for the body. The neck is Okume with a Walnut fretboard. Binding and face and side fret markers are included. The scale length is 13 3/4 inches. The neck also includes a truss rod. A compensated and adjustable Walnut bridge is included along with a chrome tailpiece. Tuners and a truss rod cover are included.  Four pairs of stings are provided including .012, .016, .026 and .032 sizes. Tuning is GDAE. Note: Keep in mind the tension created by 8 strings is substantial, all boxes will need additional reinforcement to handle the added stress. Make sure the top where the neck is connected is thick (close to 1/2" is ideal) and rigid. You will note that two hanger bolts are used to provide and solid connection between the neck and the box.
