Richard builds Cigar Box Guitars as a hobby builder. He is a retired commercial aircraft inspector for McDonnell Douglas Corporation (15 years) USAirways (25 years) and Aero Ed Inspection Services (18 years).

He learned how to build a Cigar Box Guitar through his brother-in-law, Paul Dittmeier (PJD Strings) and the rest is history.  He has always been creative with his hands, making parts, etc. while working in the aircraft industry so building CBG's is a great way for him to express his creativity.

His first build on his own was a Bento box and he crafted the neck out of a Nordic Trac Exercise Ski Machine. He has also made custom builds that include an Ohio State CBG and a NY Yankees CBG. View his creations and contact him through email, phone or his Facebook page at Stogie Strings.
