Quality Crafted Guitar Neck | Install Ready 25.5 Inch Scale 3 or 4 String Ready 3.75" x 6" Paddle Size Overall Length 35.5" 10" Tailpiece Maple Construction with Rosewood Fingerboard The perfect neck for your next build. Suitable for 3 and 4 string cigar box guitars. Solid maple construction with a rosewood fret board set for 25.5 inch scale. A 3 and 3/4 by 6 inch paddle style headstock provides the perfect blank to create the shape you want. The neck is meticulously sanded and the maple portion has a spray finish. The rosewood fretboard is unfinished. The overall length is 35 1/2 inches and the tailpiece is 10 inches long. The main portion of the neck is 1-1/2 inches wide.

This part is perfect for those wanting a nicely shaped neck blank for building their own neck. The Okume body is shaped and ready for the application of a fret board.  Can be used with a wide assortment of scale lengths from 23-27 inches or more. MGB strings are available in two styles, Plain Steel and Nickel Wound. Plain Steel strings are thinner and used in the lower positions on a instrument and create higher pitches. Nickel Wound strings are much thicker and heavier and used on the higher positions on an instrument and create lower pitches. Using a combination of different styles and diameters tuned to different pitches is the goal. The scale length of the neck is also critical a factor in selecting the correct strings. Scales lengths from 24-25.5 inches are the standard for guitars. We generally make recommendations for scale lengths in that range. If the scale length is longer or shorter, other strings may work better. Picking the right strings are a personal choice. At MGB we tend to prefer lighter strings like .013, .017 and .026 tuned to GDG. We offer an assortment of sizes in both styles. We also offer different quantities, you can buy one, three or a dozen strings. We believe our offering provides lots of options for builders. You can pick your favorite strings or do some experimentation with different strings.   MGB's CBG cheat sheet is a valuable tool for better understanding the different pitches we are referring to and can be found HERE. Having a digital caliper in your toolbox is helpful when you need to identify a string.
