The Easy Fretter is a pre loaded and ready to go fretboard that is sized to fit the 2 inch material found at the big box stores. It is made from black composite material.  Ultra smooth satin finished composite fretboard 25 1/2 inch scale 19 3/8 inches long 1 1/2 inches wide  .24 inch thick Available in Chromatic and Diatonic 21 frets on Chromatic and 13 on Diatonic  Face fret markers on Chromatic Zero fret installed  Zero fret is .020 taller than other frets Rosewood string spacer included for either 3 or 4 strings Use woodworking glue to secure the fretboard to the neck. Strongly encourage using a clamping caul to help keep the neck and fret board straight. The string spacers mount at the end to keep the strings aligned. 

The RSG pickup is a complete system that includes a pickup, harness and cover ready to install. Uses an MGB 4.0 Mini Box Bucker pickup which is soldered to a 500K economy harness, or a 3.0 Micro Pup and 250K harness. The pickup is secured into a cover. This pickup can be mounted anywhere between the neck and the bridge to provide excellent sound. The cover is .3 inches thick so make sure there is a .3 difference between the top of the frets and the top of the box. Assembly is quick and easy, simply drill a one inch hole at the pickup location and feed the jack and pots through the hole, secure the pickup with the provided screws then mount the pots and the jack. The RSG pickups are available in four popular finishes including shiny aluminum, black, gold and antique brass. Each pickup is fully tested to insure optimum performance. 

This kit does not include a box. This kit includes all the items needed to build a 20 (see note below on intonation) inch scale electric U-Bass. The neck is made of Okume and the fret board and bridge are made of Walnut. Polyurethane strings are provided as well as a bone nut that is fitted to the strings. The neck includes a hanger bolt for mounting to the box. The minimum box length that can be used is 12 inches and a box that is 13 inches or longer is recommended. Make sure to reinforce the box and we suggest using a 27093 reinforcement plate. The heavy duty tuners are made specifically for this type of instrument. Unlike other tuners  you will need to disassemble the tuner to install it in head stock. Remove the screw, gear and axle before installing the tuner body. Reassemble and and add washer and ferrule. Tighten with a 15mm wrench. Normal string winders will not work and we suggest you use our 24010 winder which will accommodate the oversized knobs on these tuners. Due to the mass and size of the strings we have found that a scale length of 20.3 inches works better for intonation. The strings are anchored on the bridge using knots on the inside of the box. Our 41003 template is available for aligning and positioning the bridge. The bridge can be glued to the box however we prefer using screws and finish washers. When the bridge is installed the string clearance holes can be drilled through the box top. The electronics package includes a compensated piezo pickup, preamp/equalizer, tuner and battery box.  Included are template/trim rings for mounting the components. The battery box uses two 2032 (not included) round batteries which are installed positive side up. A plug will need to be installed in the jack for the tuner to operate. Tune to EADG. Special note: As the strings are soft and the leading edge of the nut is quite sharp, oftentimes the strings will bind on the nut and the gears will grind till they fail. The solution is to lift the strings over the nut as you tighten the tuners.    Check online for videos on installing U-Bass strings.

Perfect for keeping strings aligned when using a zero fret. Available in Cherry, Maple or Rosewood. 1.5" wide, .3 " tall and .2 inches thick. Remove mask on Cherry and Maple before gluing in place. Make sure strings rest firmly on the zero fret, adjust slots if need be.

Available in chrome, black and gold these ferrules are used to guide and anchor strings. The measure .36" long and .36 wide at the top flange, the knurled center measures .29". Use a 5/16" drill to make a hole. Press the ferrule into the hole and use a small amount of glue if desired. 12 ferrules are provided in a poly bag.

Included are 4- 3 inch lengths of Jumbo fret wire. These can be placed in the zero fret slot. they are the perfect height when used with medium frets in the remaining slots.

Traditional and Modern F hole template, includes 8 shapes sized from 3 inches to 7 inches. Use one side for one hole then flip the template for a mirrored shape. Made from 1/8 inch acrylic.

These covers are made specifically for the K-Nine bass pickups. they measure 3.65" by 2.0" by .32". Hardware included.

In some builds it is preferred to place the pickup under the lid of the box, this practice is often referred to as "ghosting". Many builders have had good success using the MGB flat pups for these applications.  MGB is proud to introduce our new Ghost Pups. These flat pups/harness assemblies are ideal for ghosting. The pickups include a high quality 3M adhesive pad for securing the pup to the lid of the box. They work best if the surface of the box is relatively smooth. Additional adhesive such as E6000 may be needed for rough surfaces. The harnesses includes volume and tone pots along with a jack. A ground wire for the the bridge and the hardware are also included.  500k pots are used on the double coil pickups and 250k pots are included on the single coil pickups. The Lucky 13 and Point Five O are stronger pickups and best suited where the distance to the string is greater than 1/4 inch.

This part is perfect for those wanting a nicely shaped neck blank for building their own neck. The Okume body is shaped and ready for the application of a fret board.  Can be used with a wide assortment of scale lengths from 23-27 inches or more. Made for bass builds and measuring 9 Kohms, these new pickups are wide enough for 4 string bass builds. They will also work for guitar installations. These low-profile pickups are designed specifically for surface mounting on cigar boxes. They eliminate the need for cutting a large hole in the box and slotting the neck. Simply mount on the surface of the box and run the wire through a small hole to connect with the rest of the electronics. Make sure the magnets face the strings. Measuring 1.4 inches wide, .3 inches all and .2 inches thick these nuts are well suited for ukuleles and other builds with thinner fretboards. They are available blank, three or four string slots.

Chrome four string wrap around bridge suitable for cbg builds. Saddles are spaced .6 inches apart and string width at bridge is 1.8 inches. Requires a larger than standard neck, one that is close to 2 inches and the box end.  These bridges are taller than standard bridges requiring the the stagger between the box face and fret height to be near .5 inches. The mounting post allow for fine adjustment to get the action height correct. Template is included for laying out mounting hole locations. Simply line up the template on the centerline an scale length. Mark the holes and drill with a 12mm drill bit. You can use a smaller bit and file to size. Add backer to make sure top is close to .750 inches thick at the hole position.

Two way action can correct either a backbow or upbow on a neck.  Twin steel rods and brass threaded blocks allow for precise adjustments to get the perfect alignment on the neck. 4mm hex wrench included. We suggest creating a slot about .25 inches wide .5 inches deep in the neck. Make sure the slot is deep enough so that fretboard does not rest on the brass nuts. Also use a dab of E6000 or silicone caulk under each nut to prevent them from moving, do not glue the rods. The slot should be long enough to conceal the adjustment nut under the neck and/or nut.

Many builders are not musicians and have limited musical skills. It is often to difficult to know exactly how to tune strings on various instruments. MGB is not a musician and created his own cheat sheet to help him with set ups. While many musicians can get pretty close with tuning a string by ear, others (like MGB) have no idea where they are on the scale. MGB quickly realized it was helpful to use the corelating frequency for tuning. The A note has  frequency of 440HZ. The Pano tuner app is very helpful, it provides the note and the frequency. The 88 keys on the piano are listed on the left, moving to the right are popular note tuning for a number of instruments.  While there are many tuning possibilities for cbgs listed are a few popular choices.
