Templates

MGB is pleased to announce our latest template, this template will aid in locating our Tele Style bridges. Precise location of these bridges is critical in making a cbg that will be easy to tune and intonate. It will also aid in getting the strings properly located/centered in relation to the fret board. This template works with our Easy Neck, Super Neck and Super Sixer Neck. It works with our 3 String XL bridges, 4 String Bridges and our 6 String Bridges.  Using the E-System is easy. Mark the center line of the box. We suggest using Blue tape and a pencil or pen Position the body of the template on the box lining it up with the center line and the neck end of the box.  Temporarily secure the template with Blue tape. Each insert is marked with the neck/bridge combination that it is meant to work with. Select the appropriate template insert that matches the neck and bridge you are using. Before attaching the bridge to the box do a dry fit and make sure the distance from the nut to leading edge of the saddles corresponds to the sale length. This is a critical step, always confirm that the location of the bridge is correct before drilling and installing screws.

Due to the random thickness of box walls it is often a challenge to install a jack. Jack plates are very handy in that they work well with any wall thickness.  It is often a challenge to mount the plate squarely on the box. This new template from MGB allows you to drill mounting holes for the four jack plate screw holes. Simply drill a 7/8 inch hole in the wall of the box, feed the jack through the opening and secure it to the plate. Then secure the plate to the box. Place the round portion on the back of the template into the 7/8s hole and then drill the four mounting holes using a 1/16 inch or 2 mm bit.  Secure the jack to the plate then install on the box.
