NEW Style Easy Fretters! The Easy Fretter is a pre loaded and ready to go fretboard that is sized to fit the 2 inch material found at the big box stores. 25 1/2 inch scale 19 3/8 inches long 1 1/2 inches wide  .24 inch thick 21 frets Face fret markers  Zero fret installed  Zero fret is .020 taller than other frets Rosewood string spacer included for either 3 or 4 strings Use woodworking glue to secure the fretboard to the neck. Strongly encourage using a clamping caul to help keep the neck and fret board straight. The string spacers mount at the end to keep the strings aligned. 

In some builds it is preferred to place the pickup under the lid of the box, this practice is often referred to as "ghosting". Many builders have had good success using the MGB Mini Box Buckers for these applications.  MGB is proud to introduce our new Lucky 13 flat pup designed for ghosting. By adding more wire and strengthening the magnetic field we have a solid solution. These new pickups measure 13k ohms plus. We have found in testing that the pickups work well when the distance from the pickup to the strings is .5".  Make sure the magnets face the strings. Measuring 2.56" by 1.6" and .3" thick, these pickups can be used on 3,4 and 6 string builds. Works with our 6 string Boxbucker covers. View all available covers here.  

This floating Rosewood bridge allows total flexibility in bridge placement. Dimensions are 3 1/2 by 1 1/8 inches and .35 inches tall. The length of the fret wire is 2.4, Suitable for 3,4 and 6 string builds. Can be easily glued in place once optimal location is determined.

This template is used to create and opening for our flush mount jacks. It is also helpful in locating holes for pots.

This kit does include a box. This kit includes all the items needed to build a 20 (see note below on intonation) inch scale electric U-Bass. The neck is made of Okume and the fret board and bridge are made of Walnut. The boxes are made from Sapele and well reinforced for this application. Polyurethane strings are provided as well as a bone nut that is fitted to the strings. The neck includes a preinstalled hanger bolt for mounting to the box.  The heavy duty tuners are made specifically for this type of instrument. Unlike other tuners  you will need to disassemble the tuner to install it in head stock. Remove the screw, gear and axle before installing the tuner body. Reassemble and and add washer and ferrule. Tighten with a 15mm wrench. Normal string winders will not work and we suggest you use our 24010 winder which will accommodate the oversized knobs on these tuners. Due to the mass and size of the strings we have found that a scale length of 20.3 inches works better for intonation. The strings are anchored on the bridge using knots on the inside of the box. The bridge can be glued to the box however we prefer using screws and finish washers.  The electronics package includes a compensated piezo pickup, preamp/equalizer, tuner and battery box.  Openings for the preamp and battery box are included. The battery box uses two 2032 (not included) round batteries which are installed positive side up. A plug will need to be installed in the jack for the tuner to operate. Tune to EADG. Special note: As the strings are soft and the leading edge of the nut is quite sharp, oftentimes the strings will bind on the nut and the gears will grind till they fail. This handy template allows the builder to accurately mark the locations for potentiometers. Align the template with the lower left corner of the box. Then mark the holes through the template with an awl. Drill the holes using a 5/16s drill. Brad point drill bits work well. Note we also mark our bits with colored tape to help find them quickly.

It is always best to keep the pickups as close as possible to the face of the pickup. Occasionally the the geometry of the box, neck and bridge creates a larger distance. If possible it would be helpful to lift the pickup and cover. These spacers are made for each of the MGB flat pups. The are 1/8 of an inch thick. You can use one or more. The screws that come with the covers are long enough to handle several spacers.

Build your own 50s retro cbg using the new Zoomy box from MGB. Easy to assemble and easy to add the electronics of your choice. Can be used for 3,4 or 6 string guitars. Made primarily for use with bolt on necks and works perfectly with MGB Easy Necks, Super Necks and the Super Sixer Neck. Since the box is not symmetrical around the center line, it is recommended that you use a neck template to help locate the bridge. The RSG (Ready Set Go) pickup is a complete system that includes a pickup, harness and cover ready to install. Uses an MGB 4.0 Mini Box Bucker pickup which is soldered to a 500K economy harness, or a 3.0 Micro Pup and 250K harness. The pickup is secured in the cover. This pickup can be mounted anywhere between the neck and the bridge to provide excellent sound. These new wood covers are less than .25  inches thick and work well with MGBs Easy Necks, Super Necks and Easy Fretter fret boards with no need for addition spacing. Assembly is quick and easy, simply drill a one inch hole at the pickup location and feed the jack and pots through the hole, secure the pickup with the provided screws then mount the pots and the jack.  Each pickup is fully tested to insure optimum performance.

This template allows the builder to accurately locate any of the MGB Flat Pups and mark the necessary holes for mounting the cover. it easy to use, simply: I identify and mark the centerline of the box. Select the appropriate pickup on the template. Mark the mounting holes and the wire hole for the pickup.
