Chicken head knobs have been a favorite of mine for many years. All the one I've used before had a set screw, so I had to replace pots with solid shafts. These will slide onto slotted shaft pots making chicken heads easy to install on most any instrument!
Note: The wiring kit that I purchased had short shafts, so I had to rout out some wood to get enough shaft to pass through the face of the bo mandolin. On my first try, I went too deep and ended up with a 3/4 inch hole in the body. Not happy! Did a little thinking and decided on a beer bottle cap to put under the knob. Flattened out a Franziskaner bottle top which is a pretty thick top. It worked so well, and was my last beer, that I now have to go get another six-pack so I can do the tone control. Happy accident!
