Cigar box mandolin are much more rare than other instruments in the collection. This example is made from a larger Old Virginia Cheroots cigar box, blackened with age. The neck is a little clubbier than most, perhaps to stand the strain of all 8 strings. Bridge and tuners appear to be reused from an old, likely broken, mandolin.
