MGB kits are made for people with a fundamental knowledge of building stringed instruments. There are many videos available on our Youtube Channel that can provide help. We are also available by phone to help.

Kit includes everything needed to complete this attractive resonator style box instrument. Available in three or four string. Although this is a little more complicated build we are here to help, just give us a call.

Included are:

11" x 7" x 2.5" aluminum box that is fully machined, reinforced and ready for assembly.

24 inch scale Okume and Maple Deluxe Easy Neck predrilled for three or four tuners. Neck reinforcement plate is included. String slots on nut are filed but may require minimal adjustments after assembly.

Powered by an MGB 4.0 Mini Box Bucker pickup. Pickup is pre-soldered to harness and ready for easy installation.

Includes tuners, knobs and strap pins.
Resonator cone, cover, biscuit bridge with several shims for final action adjustment.
Includes a 3 pack of .013, .017 .026 or .013, .017 .026 and .036 strings.

Use a 7/16" socket or wrench to tighten hanger bolt and and 10 mm socket or wrench to tighten tuner ferules.

Great value. Great sounding instrument

This is a nice, unique instrument with a great sound of its own that sits great on a mix between regular sized guitars.
The kit is a great value, high quality all around. Easier to build than I expected, and not having to solder anything is just the cherry on top.

This is my 3rd purchase from Mike and at this point it's just become an addiction! Lol! Mike done an outstanding job on these metal boxes. The fit and finish is great. Metal Resonator 4-String

What a fun kit! Nicely made and it was easy to assemble. Neck is very well made. I made a spacer shim for where the fretboard rides over the body, and I found a piece of iron-on plywood edge veneer provided the right amount of shim for the biscuit.

Sounds quality is quite good unplugged. I have not tested the pickup extensively, but it performs much the same as the pickup on my full size resonator.

Friends have dubbed it the canjo, and smile when they see it…

4 string resonator

I hate this guitar. I can’t put it down. Playing it 7 nights straight for hours. If you don’t have one get one. Why not. Only here on Mother Earth once so I am told. So much creativity comes from this design.
