4 string

Finally a cigar box type Resonator guitar that sounds like a Resonator. Enjoyed putting it together. Had the same thing the other reviewer had. I also had to open two holes . Not a big deal they were not drilled all the way through. I am not a guitar player I am a drummer and had problems putting this to together. Thanks for a sweet sounding Resonator !

Really great kit!

I got the 4 string version of this kit. Everything went together quite easily.

A couple holes had to be opened up a little more, but that was trivial (talking a mm).

Intonation is spot on.

I did need to add a little extra shim onto my bridge, one more of their biscuit shims is the perfect height.

I may make three very small changes to this for myself.
First: I'll change out the knobs for something else...not sure what yet.
Second: I've considered adding a piezo pickup for the bridge and a three-way switch for it.
Third: I may experiment and buy a biscuit from National and see how much difference that makes (if any).

I'm absolutely certain I'm going to be getting the 3 string version of this soon to tune to open E and make a growly blues box.

Seriously, it's a great kit.

I'd kill to see this in like Tenor/Baritone uke size and tuned the same with metal strings. Elec ukes are becoming more an more of a thing.

Awesome!

At first, I was a little overwhelmed by all the parts, but it was very intuitive, and Mike even answered all my questions! I can't put this thing down; it is so much fun. I plan on getting another kit to build for my nephew/upgrade some of the parts on mine!
