MGB kits are made for people with a fundamental knowledge of building stringed instruments. There are many videos available on our Youtube Channel that can provide help. We are also available by phone to help.

Kit includes everything needed to complete this attractive resonator style box instrument. Available in three or four string. Although this a little more complicated build we are here to help, just give us a call.

Included are:

10" x 5" x 3" aluminum box that is fully machined, reinforced and ready for assembly. All boxes are anodized blue.
24 inch scale Okume and Rosewood Easy Neck predrilled for three or four tuners. Neck reinforcement plate is included. String slots on nut are filed but may require minimal adjustments after assembly.
Powered by our new MGB US made pickup. Pickup is pre-soldered to harness and ready for easy installation.
Tuners, knobs. stainless tailpiece, strap pins and hardware.
Resonator cone, biscuit bridge with several shims for final action adjustment.
Includes a 3 pack of .013, .017 .026 or .013, .017 .026 and .036 strings.
Birch back cover can be stained painted or used a template for a custom back plate.
Use a 7/16" socket or wrench to tighten hanger bolt and and 10 mm socket or wrench to tighten tuner ferules.

This box is ready to go, I painted mine, you can personalize very easily. Assembly was easy, I like the fact the nut was pre cut, wasn’t sure about the bridge, I sanded maybe an 1/8th off of it and it works really well. The pickup sounds awesome too. I recommend for a little acoustic or plug it in.

Hurray for easy builds

This was my first go with MGB kits. I noted there were no printed instructions included but that was fine with me. I have built a good number of cigar box guitars and the like already so I intuitively knew what to do. A good thing about kits like this is it is forgiving. You can make a mistake but go back and correct it. In this case, I put the nuts and bolts for the string holder in wrong and glued the back panel on instead of using wood screws. But I took the time to open up the back panel, clean up the glue, rearranged the nuts and bolts for the string holder, drill more holes in the metal box to fit the back panel and fasten the panel back with wood screws. The final result: a mini-resonator I really enjoy playing. Thanks a lot, MGB Guitars. Keep up the good work!
