MGB kits are made for people with a fundamental knowledge of building stringed instruments. There are many videos available on our Youtube Channel that can provide help. We are also available by phone to help.

Kit includes everything needed to complete this attractive 3/4 string instrument.

Included are:

9 1/2" x 7 1/4" x 2" box that is fully machined, reinforced and ready for assembly.
24 inch scale Easy Neck Rosewood and Okume fretted neck predrilled for 3/4 tuners. Neck reinforcement plate is included. String slots on nut are filed
Hot Rail pickup with harness installed. Push/pull switch on tone pot allows selecting between single coil and humbucker.
Mounting hardware and knobs.
Gold tuners, bridge, strap pins and black back cover.
Includes a black jack plate.
Includes appropriate packs of .013, .017, .026 and .036 strings.
Use a 7/16 inch deep well socket for the neck hanger bolt and a 10 mm socket or wrench to tighten tuner ferules.

This Box Rocks

Went together easily sounds fantastic. I would suggest when installing the pickup pre screwing the screws into the pickup so when it's resting in the Cigar Box it will sit level it just looks better. MGB is the go to supplier for every Cigar Box enthusiasts great job Mike thank you

Great Kit

I have built five CBGs so far and I think I like this one the best. It's a beauty with its gold fittings and the box is very strong with thick panels. The pre-cut decorative openings are well done too. The nut was perfect on this one. I had a minor problem with the assembly, but Michael was quick to respond to my emailed question and the issue was solved by his advice. That is good customer service!

first time builder

very well packaged and shipped quickly. Easy to understand layout and build methodology The build went smooth and quickly, with well made components. Great little guitar

Quality parts. Good thing it was an easy build. Kit did not have any assembly instructions. Had it assembled, strung and setup in less than 90 minutes.
Great sounding pickup and a feel on the fingerboard.

Great kit, especially for beginners

I have built several cigar box guitars but this is definitely a fave. Also, I am glad to know I needed a minimum of tools to build it: a drill (battery operated and rechargeable) with bits, a screw driver and a wrench. So glad I did not need any luthier tools! The kit took me a few hours to assemble and assembly was fairly straightforward. In the end, I had a great, very playable guitar. Thanks once again, MGB!
