For the price, can it really be beaten? With the size of a single coil, it has the noise cancelling effects of a humbucker, perfect for a Stratocaster. The casing is a 'chrome' plated plastic and the two rails are single magnets. That being said, I do wish the casing was a real metal, but there is no way to tell at any view farther than inspecting range. This pickup has the unique effect (or at least in my guitar) to cancel phases out when mixed with other pickups. When phase cancelling, it has a sound reminiscent of an old radio, like as if there is a high-pass filter enabled. It has a great twang with some heavy bass to it, and by itself can carry a great signal to pass to overdrive. Although, the case is quite large, unless it was a problem with the geometry of my pickguard, it was a tough fit through, but nonetheless, it did fit. I have the feeling that the case could easily fracture if a great enough force is applied to it or that the center piece of plastic could snap at the junction if you mess around with taking it off and putting it on. Other than that, I had no issues with it, wiring is straightforward, just ground the black wire and put the white to signal input, leave the red and green connected and isolated unless you want to introduce coil splitting (this I haven't tried with this pickup, but It likely sounds great). This is no doubt an incredible pickup for what it's valued at. A must buy if you're looking to mod or experiment with a Partscaster and dont want to break the bank on specialized brand-manufactured pickups. Bonus points for being extra shiny. 9/10
