These low-profile pickups are designed specifically for surface mounting on cigar box guitars. They eliminate the need for cutting a large hole in the box and slotting the neck. Simply mount on the surface of the box and run the wire through a small hole to connect with the rest of the electronics. Make sure the magnets face the strings.

Dimensions are 1.75" wide, 1.65" tall and .23" thick.

Great general purpose Humbucker

I'm finding myself using more and more of these surface mounted Humbuckers. They have a very nice tone, and are simple to add/adapt to a variety of instruments.

I normally use 12k "lucky 13" pickups and ghost them on my builds.....but when I want a box lid surface-mounted pickup with a cover, I go to these 4k mini box buckers with one of Mike's stamped metal covers. Always work, smaller 4k cover looks size-appropriate on a 3 or 4 string build. That's my story, and I'm stickin' to it. Happy building!

Powerful

I bought two and put them on cigar boxes I made from scratch. I was pleasantly surprised by how great these sounded. I’ll be ordering more. I bought the covers, too.
