I put one of these on my pedal steel hoping to get both a rounder tone and a signal that would hit my amp and pedals more like a regular guitar. Mission accomplished and then some! The sound of this little pickup is not only glassy and sweet, but it works with my amp and pedals better than the $200 pickup I installed on my PSG.
The only trouble is that it's made to cover six strings and I need to cover ten.
Enter Mike with the fantastic customer service. One phone call and he not only recommended one of their wider pickups, but offered to work with me on making a larger one for pedal steel if the alternate doesn't work.
I'm giving five stars only because I can't give ten. If you are an experimenter with ANY kind of instrument with steel strings, you NEED these pups.
