I ordered one of these 9v preamp equalizer kits for a recent baritone cigar box build. I needed to slightly decrease the action down by the bridge so I sanded down the bone bridge a bit. When we tested it out, we found that while the D string sounded fine the other three strings were simplified at a very low volume or sometimes not at all. I sent Mike an email asking for his thoughts. I got an almost instantaneous reply with Mike telling me to make sure that the bridge was absolutely flat with good contact between bridge and the piezo braided wire pickup along its entire surface (no gaps). After a little more very careful sanding, now ensuring good bridge to piezo contact along the entire bone bridge, the pickup is working perfectly, resulting in a great sounding baritone uke and a very happy customer. Thanks Mike for your always excellent support!
