Not only does this finish off the hole that is cut in the box (if you should cut slightly out of the lines), but it also gives extra security for the two inside mounting holes, which can be weak on some thin box lids. Plus the frame makes a great template for cutting the hole on several of the pickups. Really adds a nice touch to the look of the instrument.
