This kit includes everything needed to build a Mandolin except for the body. The neck is Okume with a Walnut fretboard. Binding and face and side fret markers are included. The scale length is 13 3/4 inches. The neck also includes a truss rod. A compensated and adjustable Walnut bridge is included along with a chrome tailpiece. Tuners and a truss rod cover are included.  Four pairs of stings are provided including .012, .016, .026 and .032 sizes. Tuning is GDAE. Note: Keep in mind the tension created by 8 strings is substantial, all boxes will need additional reinforcement to handle the added stress. Make sure the top where the neck is connected is thick (close to 3/8" is ideal) and rigid. You will note that two hanger bolts are used to provide and solid connection between the neck and the box.

MGB Guitars is proud to introduce their Easy Box XL enclosure. This innovative enclosure has two sides with two distinct uses. One with a sound hole and one with Bigfoot sound hole. This box was designed and built using the same principles used in acoustic instrument construction. The box is built using purfling and braces to create an incredibly strong and rigid structure. Additional reinforcements were added to key locations to allow when securing bridges. Cover plates are available to cover the sound hole.  Measuring  11 1/2 inches by 8 inches and 2 1/2 thick the box is made from thin ply with a top veneer of Sapele. Strongly encourage using a clamping caul to help keep the neck and fret board straight. The string spacers mount at the end to keep the strings aligned.

Perfect for keeping strings aligned when using a zero fret. Available in Cherry, Maple or Rosewood. 1.5" wide, .3 " tall and .2 inches thick. Remove mask on Cherry and Maple before gluing in place. Make sure strings rest firmly on the zero fret, adjust slots if need be.
