The Hot Tuna with its crazy name is pretty straightforward mini humbucker. It's small in scale and works out perfect for a lot of cigar box guitars. This humbucker has split coil wiring and is a little bit different than some of the wirings you'll see on some of our other pickups. Make sure to watch our video on that above. We've got four colors including chrome, gold, black, and antique brass.

The Hot Tuna is a new pickup that we've designed and we are really proud of we've done, we hope you guys like it and help make The Hot Tunas a household name.

Black wire is hot, green/braid is ground and red/white are where the coils connect.

Note: Also available with our push pull pot harness. This allows you to easily move from a single coil pickup to a humbucker by simply pushing or pulling the tone knob. Soldered sealed and tested. This is our favorite setup at MGB Guitars.

Great Pickup

I bought this pickup not knowing how it would sound on a bass build. I called MGB before purchasing to ask their opinion and was told it would be O.K. and usable. It sounds PHENOMENAL! It has a wonderful low end growl to it and I plan on using it in more bass builds.

Love love these.

I installed two at the neck and bridge and it sure does deliver. In dirty it's OMG killer. That said most sites recommend a 22 uf cap. I wanted to get a cleaner tone also so I tried a 14 uf . Perfection! I love the tone I can do with this pickup!!!

Great pickup

As a someone new to building CBGs but a long time guitar player I know what I like in pickups. I got a chance to try one of these and it does deliver.

Easy to install and wire, just take your time if you are new and it will drop right in. Simply solder two wires for basic application and you are all set.
