In addition to building my cigar box guitars, I also modify some of my off-the-shelf guitars from time to time, particularly when it comes to making them fit a particular project or assignment. And I like to experiment with strange new ways of getting the sound from my fingertips to the front of the amplifier. At this price and the buy one get one free deal, I couldn't turn down taking one of these pickups for a spin, and I have to say that I was pleasantly surprised. It's a very good, basic looking, low to medium output single-coil that doesn't just sound like another Strat or Tele style pickup. Clear sounding but also has a hint of Lo-Fi voicing that sounds really nice with a clean amp, and kind of impressive with a good fuzz pedal. Definitely recommend these, and I will be buying more for some of my experiments down the road.
