In some builds it is preferred to place the pickup under the lid of the box,

this practice is often referred to as "ghosting". Many builders have had good success using the MGB Mini Box Buckers for these applications. MGB is proud to introduce our new Lucky 13 flat pup designed for ghosting.

By adding more wire and strengthening the magnetic field we have a solid solution. These new pickups measure 13k ohms plus. We have found in testing that the pickups work well when the distance from the pickup to the strings is .5". Make sure the magnets face the strings.

Measuring 2.56" by 1.6" and .3" thick, these pickups can be used on 3,4 and 6 string builds. Works with our 6 string Boxbucker covers.

Nice and compact

I put this in a custom bass build with narrow string spacing, and it's great at keeping up with the mix. I needed something surface-mounted and this fit the bill perfectly.

The Lucky 13 is a Awesome Pickup. It can be used in a lot of different ways! Totally hidden or slightly hidden. If you can think of Away to mount it then your off to the Races...

Lucky 13 With Prewired Harness

The Lucky 13 humbucker produces a strong sound. I installed it as a top mount at the bridge due to the very thin Liga Privada H99 cigar box I was working with. The thickness with the cover worked well. Sounds better than other humbuckers I have used in my limited building experience.
