Traditional 3 string bridges have a narrow 12 mm spacing between strings. This places the strings close together and can can be challenging for players with bigger hands and fingers. The new MGB XL bridge solves that problem providing a bridge with ample spacing. The spacing between strings on the new XL Bridge is 16mm (0.625", just under 5/8") with total distance from string 1 to string 3 being 32mm or 1.25 inches which works perfectly with a 1 1/2 inch neck. This bridge is a "top-loading" style, which means that the strings are fed through the back plate of the bridge, then up and over the saddles. No drilling through the instrument/box is required  Each one is mounted securely by four screws, and a small hex wrench is also included for adjusting the small set screws that control string action height. The MGB Vee is our newest body, ready for easy assembly. The body includes a center ring, a top and a back. The top is available in two styles: blank and Hot tuna ready. The body measures 17.5 inches by 11.5 inches and is 2 inches thick. The center ring is made from 2 layers of pine and the top and back are 1/4 inch ply. This body works well with bolt on style necks. Can be used for 6 string builds. Simply glue and clamp the components then sand the profile. Finish with stain, paint or clear coat.  

MGB is pleased to announce our latest template, this template will aid in locating our Tele Style bridges. Precise location of these bridges is critical in making a cbg that will be easy to tune and intonate. It will also aid in getting the strings properly located/centered in relation to the fret board. This template works with our Easy Neck, Super Neck and Super Sixer Neck. It works with our 3 String XL bridges, 4 String Bridges and our 6 String Bridges.  Using the E-System is easy. Mark the center line of the box. We suggest using Blue tape and a pencil or pen Position the body of the template on the box lining it up with the center line and the neck end of the box.  Temporarily secure the template with Blue tape. Each insert is marked with the neck/bridge combination that it is meant to work with. Select the appropriate template insert that matches the neck and bridge you are using. Before attaching the bridge to the box do a dry fit and make sure the distance from the nut to leading edge of the saddles corresponds to the sale length. This is a critical step, always confirm that the location of the bridge is correct before drilling and installing screws.

The Easy Fretter is a pre loaded and ready to go fretboard that is sized to fit the 2 inch material found at the big box stores. This new body from MGB provides a perfect platform for building a cool round body instrument. The size works well with the very popular 12 inch round metal signs. The kit includes our new Maple Ring body, a top plate and a rear cover. (Neck and hardware are not included.) The kits comes in two sizes, the 11 inch includes an11 inch top plate that is exactly the same size as the ring, the 11.5 inch includes a 11 1/2 inch top plate that overhangs the body by 1/4 inch. Most 12 inch signs are not actually 12 inches; from experience we find they are actually 11 1/2 inches. We suggest you get your sign first and determine the size before you buy the body. Amazon and Ebay list a wide assortment of 12 inch signs as well as the smaller 8 inch signs This body may provide a challenge on installing a neck. The body and or the neck will need to be fitted carefully to get the centerline of the neck to match with the center line of the body. For those using an Easy Neck let us know and we will provide a neck shim to aid in installing the neck. There is a cut out on the top that allows the ghost mounting of a flat pup. The body is maple and the top and back plates are Birch plywood.

This kit does not include a box. This kit includes all the items needed to build a 20 (see note below on intonation) inch scale electric U-Bass. The neck is made of Okume and the fret board and bridge are made of Walnut. Polyurethane strings are provided as well as a bone nut that is fitted to the strings. The neck includes a hanger bolt for mounting to the box. The minimum box length that can be used is 12 inches and a box that is 13 inches or longer is recommended. Make sure to reinforce the box and we suggest using a 27093 reinforcement plate. The heavy duty tuners are made specifically for this type of instrument. Unlike other tuners  you will need to disassemble the tuner to install it in head stock. Remove the screw, gear and axle before installing the tuner body. Reassemble and and add washer and ferrule. Tighten with a 15mm wrench. Normal string winders will not work and we suggest you use our 24010 winder which will accommodate the oversized knobs on these tuners. Due to the mass and size of the strings we have found that a scale length of 20.3 inches works better for intonation. The strings are anchored on the bridge using knots on the inside of the box. Our 41003 template is available for aligning and positioning the bridge. The bridge can be glued to the box however we prefer using screws and finish washers. When the bridge is installed the string clearance holes can be drilled through the box top. The electronics package includes a compensated piezo pickup, preamp/equalizer, tuner and battery box.  Included are template/trim rings for mounting the components. The battery box uses two 2032 (not included) round batteries which are installed positive side up. A plug will need to be installed in the jack for the tuner to operate. Tune to EADG. Special note: As the strings are soft and the leading edge of the nut is quite sharp, oftentimes the strings will bind on the nut and the gears will grind till they fail. The solution is to lift the strings over the nut as you tighten the tuners.    Check online for videos on installing U-Bass strings.

The RSG (Ready Set Go) pickup is a complete system that includes a pickup, harness and cover ready to install. Uses an MGB 4.0 Mini Box Bucker pickup which is soldered to a 500K economy harness, or a 3.0 Micro Pup and 250K harness. The pickup is secured in the cover. This pickup can be mounted anywhere between the neck and the bridge to provide excellent sound. These new wood covers are less than .25  inches thick and work well with MGBs Easy Necks, Super Necks and Easy Fretter fret boards with no need for addition spacing. Assembly is quick and easy, simply drill a one inch hole at the pickup location and feed the jack and pots through the hole, secure the pickup with the provided screws then mount the pots and the jack.  Each pickup is fully tested to insure optimum performance.
