In some builds it is preferred to place the pickup under the lid of the box, this practice is often referred to as "ghosting". Many builders have had good success using the MGB Mini Box Buckers for these applications.  MGB is proud to introduce our new Lucky 13 flat pup designed for ghosting. By adding more wire and strengthening the magnetic field we have a solid solution. These new pickups measure 13k ohms plus. We have found in testing that the pickups work well when the distance from the pickup to the strings is .5".  Make sure the magnets face the strings. Make sure the magnets face the strings.  By adding more wire and strengthening the magnetic field we have a solid solution. These new pickups are a single coil version of the Lucky 13 pickup. They only have one coil and  measure 6.5 k ohms plus, thus the name Point Five O or .5. We have found in testing that the pickups work well when the distance from the pickup to the strings is .5".  Measuring 2.56" by 1.6" and .3" thick, these pickups can be used on 3,4 and 6 string builds. The RSG pickup is a complete system that includes a pickup, harness and cover ready to install. Uses an MGB 4.0 Mini Box Bucker pickup which is soldered to a 500K economy harness, or a 3.0 Micro Pup and 250K harness. The pickup is secured into a cover. This pickup can be mounted anywhere between the neck and the bridge to provide excellent sound. The cover is .3 inches thick so make sure there is a .3 difference between the top of the frets and the top of the box. Assembly is quick and easy, simply drill a one inch hole at the pickup location and feed the jack and pots through the hole, secure the pickup with the provided screws then mount the pots and the jack. The RSG pickups are available in four popular finishes including shiny aluminum, black, gold and antique brass. Each pickup is fully tested to insure optimum performance.

Made for bass builds and measuring 9 Kohms, these new pickups are wide enough for 4 string bass builds. They will also work for guitar installations. These low-profile pickups are designed specifically for surface mounting on cigar boxes. They eliminate the need for cutting a large hole in the box and slotting the neck. Simply mount on the surface of the box and run the wire through a small hole to connect with the rest of the electronics. Make sure the magnets face the strings. Secure the pickup to the cover with double sided tape, hot melt glue or E6000. Cover not included. Dimensions are 1.3" wide, 2.75" tall and .25" thick. Find covers here

These covers are made specifically for the K-Nine bass pickups. they measure 3.65" by 2.0" by .32". Hardware included.

Many builders have had good success using the MGB flat pups for these applications.  MGB is proud to introduce our new Ghost Pups. These flat pups/harness assemblies are ideal for ghosting. The pickups include a high quality 3M adhesive pad for securing the pup to the lid of the box. They work best if the surface of the box is relatively smooth. Additional adhesive such as E6000 may be needed for rough surfaces. The harnesses includes volume and tone pots along with a jack. A ground wire for the the bridge and the hardware are also included.  500k pots are used on the double coil pickups and 250k pots are included on the single coil pickups. The Lucky 13 and Point Five O are stronger pickups and best suited where the distance to the string is greater than 1/4 inch.
