Imitation pearl fret markers are 1/4 inch in diameter. Easy to install. Mark locations for markers. Drill shallow hole using 1/4 inch flat bottom or brad point drill bit. Test drill depth on a scrap piece of wood. Glue markers in place using super glue. Carefully sand to finished height. If you drill too deep you can stack two markers to fix the problem. The Easy Fretter is a pre loaded and ready to go fretboard that is sized to fit the 2 inch material found at the big box stores. What's a Hot Tuna? Let's talk about it! Mini Humbucker Split coil wiring Available in chrome, gold, black, antique brass finish 1 1/2 by 3 5/8  by 7/8 Watch Video: MGB Hot Tuna Mini Humbucker The Hot Tuna with its crazy name is pretty straightforward mini humbucker. It's small in scale and works out perfect for a lot of cigar box guitars. This humbucker has split coil wiring and is a little bit different than some of the wirings you'll see on some of our other pickups. Make sure to watch our video on that above. We've got four colors including chrome, gold, black, and antique brass.  The Hot Tuna is a new pickup that we've designed and we are really proud of we've done, we hope you guys like it and help make The Hot Tunas a household name. Black wire is hot, green/braid is ground and red/white are where the coils connect. Note: Also available with our push pull pot harness. This allows you to easily move from a single coil pickup to a humbucker by simply pushing or pulling the tone knob. Soldered sealed and tested. This is our favorite setup at MGB Guitars.

These low-profile pickups are designed specifically for surface mounting on cigar box guitars. They eliminate the need for cutting a large hole in the box and slotting the neck. Simply mount on the surface of the box and run the wire through a small hole to connect with the rest of the electronics. 8.8k Pickup. Dimensions are 2.5" wide, 1.65" tall and .23" thick. The RSG pickup is a complete system that includes a pickup, harness and cover ready to install. Uses an MGB 4.0 Mini Box Bucker pickup which is soldered to a 500K economy harness, or a 3.0 Micro Pup and 250K harness. The pickup is secured into a cover. This pickup can be mounted anywhere between the neck and the bridge to provide excellent sound. The cover is .3 inches thick so make sure there is a .3 difference between the top of the frets and the top of the box. Assembly is quick and easy, simply drill a one inch hole at the pickup location and feed the jack and pots through the hole, secure the pickup with the provided screws then mount the pots and the jack. The RSG pickups are available in four popular finishes including shiny aluminum, black, gold and antique brass. Each pickup is fully tested to insure optimum performance.

This template allows the user to precisely mark the locations of the frets. Included are templates for 25.5, 25, 24.75, 24, 23, 21 and 20 inch scale lengths. Each templte included locations for 24 frets. Simply cut the appropriate strip and affix to the fret board using double sided tape, contact cement or rubber cement. Carefully saw the fret slots at the marks and install the frets. Template also includes dots for the fret markers.  Not copyrighted so feel free to make additional copies as needed.

500K volume potentiometer.

In some builds it is preferred to place the pickup under the lid of the box, this practice is often referred to as "ghosting". Many builders have had good success using the MGB Mini Box Buckers for these applications.  MGB is proud to introduce our new Lucky 13 flat pup designed for ghosting. By adding more wire and strengthening the magnetic field we have a solid solution. These new pickups measure 13k ohms plus. We have found in testing that the pickups work well when the distance from the pickup to the strings is .5".  Make sure the magnets face the strings. Measuring 2.56" by 1.6" and .3" thick, these pickups can be used on 3,4 and 6 string builds. Works with our 6 string Boxbucker covers. View all available covers here.

Be sure to wipe any excess glue away. Let the glue dry fully before removing from clamps.  If the cigar box mosaic look is something you are interested in, this is how we lay it out. After you decide where each piece is going to be placed, use wood glue to apply to the top.   The back panel is lined with pre-drilled holes so that you can screw to the inner rings. You can wood glue the back as well if you prefer not to use screws, simply flip the back panel over so that the pre-drilled holes are facing inside and out of view.
