The MGB Vee is our newest body, ready for easy assembly. The body includes a center ring, a top and a back. The top is available in two styles: blank and Hot tuna ready. The body measures 17.5 inches by 11.5 inches and is 2 inches thick. The center ring is made from 2 layers of pine and the top and back are 1/4 inch ply. This body works well with bolt on style necks. Can be used for 6 string builds. Simply glue and clamp the components then sand the profile. Finish with stain, paint or clear coat.

All strings are packed in a corrosion resistant envelope and then packed in a reclosable 4 mil bag. MGB strings are available in two styles, Plain Steel and Nickel Wound. Plain Steel strings are thinner and used in the lower positions on a instrument and create higher pitches. Nickel Wound strings are much thicker and heavier and used on the higher positions on an instrument and create lower pitches. Using a combination of different styles and diameters tuned to different pitches is the goal. The scale length of the neck is also critical a factor in selecting the correct strings. Scales lengths from 24-25.5 inches are the standard for guitars. We generally make recommendations for scale lengths in that range. If the scale length is longer or shorter, other strings may work better. Picking the right strings are a personal choice. At MGB we tend to prefer lighter strings like .013, .017 and .026 tuned to GDG. We offer an assortment of sizes in both styles. We also offer different quantities, you can buy one, three or a dozen strings. We believe our offering provides lots of options for builders. You can pick your favorite strings or do some experimentation with different strings.   MGB's CBG cheat sheet is a valuable tool for better understanding the different pitches we are referring to and can be found HERE. This handy kit includes replacement nuts and washers for popular jacks and pots. Included are 10 washers and 10 M9 nuts for jacks, 10 washers and 10 M8 nuts for standard pots and 10 washers and 10 M7 nuts for the smaller pots.
