These low-profile pickups are designed specifically for surface mounting on cigar box guitars. They eliminate the need for cutting a large hole in the box and slotting the neck. Simply mount on the surface of the box and run the wire through a small hole to connect with the rest of the electronics. Make sure the magnets face the strings.   Dimensions are 1.75" wide, 1.65" tall and .23" thick. Covers not included, find covers here. Cover template HERE. When used with a router and a Freud 50-98 bit the template will create a perfectly sized opening. The template includes a pattern for most pickups in the MGB line. Available in 3 and 4 string models, these new MGB Pitch Benders can add a new dimension to your CBGs. Includes all of the chrome finished components and hardware needed. Also includes a template to provide accurate location and sizing of hole for the bridge and locations for mounting screws. Critical steps for installation: Use the template (included) for accurate lay-out of holes. Make sure to line up the box center line and scale length line.  Secure anchor block (2 1/2 x 4  inches) to inside of lid. It should meet with edge of hole. The bridge screws will need to go through the lid and into the block. Do not over tighten screws that secure the bridge. The bridge must lay flat against the box, see pic. The bridge will need to pivot to shorten the strings and bend the pitch. Anchor the springs to provide tension, you can use the spring bracket or install screws in the anchor block. Our experience shows that stretching the strings about 1/2 inch from the normal state provides the right tension. This tension will will keep the bridge flat and allow tuning. Bending the bar will further stretch the springs and allow the bridge to pivot. The 3 string uses two springs and the 4 string uses three springs. The strings are bottom loading so access through the back of the box is needed.

Looking for an economic pickup with some real power? This little single coil packs a lot of punch into a small package. Measuring 2 3/4 by 3/4 by 3/8, it's easy to install, cut a small slot in your lid, glue the pickup in the optional cover and mount with screws. Feel free to experiment. Connect to our Volume/Tone/Jack Harness and you have a great electronics package at a very reasonable price. With your own mounting ideas. The pickup checks in at 9K and will provide a really big sound at a reasonable price. The large number of holes provide ultimate flexibility in laying out holes for tuners as need for each build. Warning: make sure to check spacing if tuners are placed closely on one side.
